If I ruled the world, ...
Look at the images below. They show people living in very different places, but all of them face serious challenges: homelessness, war, forced migration and natural disasters. These situations may seem distant, but they are part of the world we live in today. Now imagine something different. What if you ruled the world? Your challenge Choose ONE image (A, B, C or D). I think some TCKs find it hard to answer this question because they have lived in different countries and experienced different cultures. They may feel a connection to several places, but not completely belong to any of them. For them, home is more about people and memories than a specific location.
ReplyDeleteFor me, a place feels like home when I’m close to my family and surrounded by the people I love. Having my routines, habits, and a space where I feel comfortable and safe also makes it feel like home.

DeleteI think that TCK’s find this question hard Because they have lived in many countries and don’t feel fully attached to just one. For them, “home” isn’t a specific place, but a mix of cultures, experiences , memories, and people.
ReplyDeleteAnd for me a place that feels like home is the one where i feel free to be myself, accepted and surrounded by people i love.

DeleteI think some TCKs find it hard to answer “Where is home?” because they’ve grown up in more than one country or culture, so they don’t have just one place that feels like it fully belongs to them. They might have memories or friends in different places, and choosing just one doesn’t feel right.
ReplyDeleteFor me, a place feels like “home” when I feel comfortable being myself and when I’m surrounded by people who care about me.

DeleteI think Third Culture Kids find it hard to answer the question "Where is home?" because they've had a lot of "homes" through out their life. They have known a lot of places and maybe there is a thing in each of of them that comforts them just like a home should. For them, there isn't a specific place where they feel comfortable in. For them, home is those things they find comforting in each one of those places, not one place alone
ReplyDeleteWhat makes a place feel like home to me is mainly the people in it. I love hanging out with the people I love, whether it is my family or my friends. They are the ones who keep me motivated and confident to push forward in my life plans. With them, i feel like i can say or do anything without being judged and, honestly, they all feel like home to me. So, for me, home is where my family and friends are.
